After more than two years without news, Rattenjäger has released some new previews of his Nürburgring Südschleife project for rFactor.
Built in 1927, the 7.5 kilometer Südschleife was the smaller brother of the legenday Nürburgring Nordschleife, both tracks were connected by the start/finish area and could be combined to one long 28 kilometer track.
While the Nordschleife rose to fame as the most challenging race track in the world, the Südschleife was less used as the years passed by. In the early 1980s, the track was closed to make room for the modern Grand Prix track, parts of the former track have been converted to public roads which are still used today.
